What the client asked for

J&JOY had spent ten years perfecting their craft, designing durable, stylish clothes for families. But as they prepared to grow nationally and expand internationally, they faced a challenge. Their brand identity was rooted in functional benefits, which made it hard to stand out in a crowded market. They needed a way to connect emotionally with customers and bring new team members together under a shared vision. Without a cohesive brand expression, their expansion plans risked losing momentum.

+ process

How it was built

We started by listening. J&JOY's founders had a clear vision for the brand's future, but it needed to be translated into a visual and narrative language that resonated. Together with Nemesis, we reimagined their identity around the emotional core of the brand: joy, connection, and belonging. We designed a flexible visual system that could adapt to different audiences, from parents to kids, while keeping the brand's warmth and authenticity intact. The website became the centerpiece of this effort, blending ecommerce functionality with story-led content. We worked closely with their team to ensure the new design felt true to their values and could scale with their ambitions. Every decision was guided by the goal of making J&JOY a brand people could trust and love.

What shipped and what it changed

The rebrand gave J&JOY a new voice, one that speaks to the heart as much as the wardrobe. The website launched with a seamless shopping experience and a content strategy that highlighted the brand's story, not just its products. This shift helped them connect with a broader audience and unify their growing team around a shared identity. Early feedback showed customers responded to the emotional depth of the brand, and J&JOY's leadership felt confident in their path forward. The rebrand was not just a visual update; it was a foundation for growth.

+ the technical win

We built the site on Next.js for performance and flexibility, using Sanity as a headless CMS to manage content effortlessly. Vercel ensured fast, reliable hosting, while Stripe handled payments smoothly. Storybook helped us maintain consistency across components, making it easy for J&JOY's team to update the site as they grow. The stack was chosen to balance speed, scalability, and ease of use.
